Omar Al Bashir, el presidente de Sudán, es el mayor asesino de masas que hay en el mundo en la actualidad. Durante 20 años ha masacrado a comunidades enteras que se han opuesto a su régimen y está por ello acusado de genocidio ante la Corte Penal Internacional. Estas masacres están ocurriendo de nuevo, y continuarán a no ser que lo detengamos de una vez por todas.

En estos momentos, el ejército de Al Bashir está bombardeando a mujeres y a niños en las montañas de Nuba, mientras sus milicias van de puerta en puerta degollando a familias enteras. Durante décadas, los líderes del mundo han tolerado, de manera vergonzosa, la infame brutalidad de Al Bashir a cambio de poder mantener el acceso a las grandes reservas de petróleo de este país. Pero esta semana las cosas están cambiando. Sudán se está dividiendo, la inflación y los precios de los alimentos están por las nubes, y el poder de Bashir está más débil que nunca.

Enviemos un mensaje masivo a nuestros líderes para decirles ¡Basta Ya! Y exijámosles que abandonen su escandalosa inacción, arrestando a este monstruo, imponiendo fuertes sanciones sobre los miembros de su camarilla, y comprometiéndose a proteger al pueblo de Sudán de la represión y el genocidio. Sudan's President al-Bashir is the world's worst mass murderer. Indicted by the International Criminal Court for genocide, he has for 20 years repeatedly butchered whole communities that challenged his rule. And it's happening again -- unless we stop him for good.

Right now he's bombing women and children in the Nuba mountains, while his militias go door to door slitting the throats of whole families. For decades, world leaders have shamefully allowed al-Bashir's unspeakable brutality so they could maintain access to his regime's large oil reserves. But this week things are changing -- Sudan is splitting apart, inflation and food prices are sky-rocketing, and Bashir's grip on power is at its weakest ever.
